Have you ever met a working dog? most probably you have noticed dogs walking along with their handlers around malls, banks, hotels, airport and seaport premises. They have been used by military, police, security agencies, counter-terrorism units and other specialty organizations. What made these wonderful pets special is their ability to do tasks like bomb and drug sniffing, search and rescue or help persons with disabilities. German shepherds, Belgian malinois, Dutch shepherds and Labrador retrievers are among the breeds of dogs that are carefully selected, trained and certified to specialize on a specific type of job. This is because dogs have a keen sense of smell that no machine can duplicate. Nowadays, working dogs have grown importance especially in promoting the safety of the places we visit. Thanks to these extraordinary working dogs.
